Botany handbook (with pictures)?

english is not my native language, but i'll be moving to the UK soon. i'd like to be able to find out the english names of various fruits, herbs, etc. that i normally use for cooking. is there any such book that basically has the names, along with a description and pictures? preferrably something that ISN'T meant for botany students, but instead for simple laymen like me?
