Is it possible to upload a movie from the physical dvd?

Ok, example: I own the movie Ferris Bueller. I want to be able to upload it so I can watch it on my mac, and also so i don't have to spend $10 on something I already have. How can I upload the mvoie from the dvd so I can save it onto itunes or something?
