My cat is beating the crap out of me regularly. She claws and bites relentlessly - suggestions?

She'll choose a spot, like your elbow, your foot, or really just about anywhere. She just focuses on that spot and digs and bites. It's pretty painful after a few minutes. What works to discourage this insane behavior?
