Would the school give my son days off?

ok my husband dad recently died in pakistan and now his mother is a hearth patient and is not feeling well now (not because of her husband diying) and so i want to go to see her but i can go alone because i get tension and scared of flying so i want my 14 year old son to go with me who is responsible and also my hasband cant go because he is also a hearth patient and has to take of our daughter and other son. so i need to take days of about 10-12 days He is going to ask teackers for homework school work etc to do there so am writing a letter now! so what do you think also prices are high and because of these when going are kinda low ,he is gonna miss about 5 days of school ebfore half term break february and then after wards about another 6 days do you think they will let him go????????????
