I think this is about the ups and downs of life. Sometimes you get the big fish and other times you get the small fish, so to speak. Just like in life we sometimes miss out on things and other times we get what we want and feel happy. I think your grandpa catching the big snapper was encouragement to persevere with life no matter what.
