I am 21 years old graduating college in 2010, I have been in a close long distance relationship with my boyfriend for the last 4 years. I am living with my father and its his house so I know its his rules and I respect that. I feel extremely indebted to him for all of the things he has given me (paid for my college tuition, lets me live rent free, bought me a car, etc) and I know he doesn't approve of my boyfriend that is 8 years older than me, still lives with his mother and doesn't have a decent job (although he works full time in a kitchen and attends police school at night). When I first met my boyfriend 4 years ago I was 18 and he was 26 I I feel like I have suffered in silence long about not being able to see my boyfriend. I only saw my boyfriend in person once when I was 18 he got a hotel room for us I was living in a college dorm at the time. My parents found out I was shacking up they called the police and said I was missing then drove 6 hours to hotel near my college and told my boyfriend to stay away from me (with the police present and backing them up). After that I didn't talk to my boyfriend for a few months, but we started talking again obviously and since then we have been tight, every moment that he is not at work and I am not at school we are on the computer together on Skype. My boyfriend has been there providing moral support for me through hell and high water, through my parents divorce and domestic stint that I had with my mom when I was living with her that ended up with me getting arrested and going to court for domestic ault. I encouraged my boyfriend to go to school which has really pleased his mother, both and he and his mother would really like to see me. I feel like after everything I have gone through and how hard I continue to work at school (engineering degree is not easy) I deserve a little freedom to have my own personal life for real (not just on the computer). I've been doing job interviews, made dean's list last semester, I never do anything "fun" - I stay locked up in my room all day - and this is they way its been for the last 4 years. My boyfriend is the only friend that I have and the only one I ever talk to. My dad mentioned a few times why couldn't I just find some nice smart college boys to date and that would have all his approval but love just doesn't work that way. I know that I will be out of his house soon within the next few years after I graduate and find a job but I don't think I can stand to wait that long. I asked him recently if I could visit my boyfriend for spring break and he said "why are you asking me, your 21 you can do what you want" but by the way he said it and things he has said about my bf in the past I know he still disapproves of it. I'm not sure what the effects of that disapproval will be. I know it will be hard to find the nerve to just do it, but I am going to visit my boyfriend over spring break even though my dad won't like it. If the visit goes well I really want to start getting serious because my boyfriend is graduating from the police academy and I am confident that he will get a good job. I'm a chemist. In my spare time, I'm a ham radio operator. As a result of my highly ytical and skeptical nature as well as bad experiences with religion in the past, I am pretty much as atheist as it gets. Words can not describe the burning pion with which I hate religion, especially Christianity. I value to an exceedingly high degree the few atheist friends I have as it is with them that I can most most honestly and deeply connect. Lately, one of my closest atheist friends seems to be getting drawn towards Catholicism in a hurry. I don't feel that it is my place to try and tell him what to do, especially because his religious development was already fairly advanced by the time he let me in on it. I don't want our relationship to change and I ultimately want him to do whatever makes him happy, but I still find it terribly upsetting that someone so close to me is falling into a belief system which I personally loathe and fear might ultimately cause him to resent me. Kso at my school we had a school wide event and alot of kids stayed after until 4:40. The event took place right after school and it involved running. Yes. You have to practice. You have to know what you want to change and pay attention to what you are saying. Concentrate on saying the words the way you want to say them. It takes time and patience, and a lot of concentration. I have had to relearn how to pronounce a few words, and over the years it has gotten to be a habit to say the words correctly. Sometimes I try to mispronounce the words so that my kids can hear how I used to speak. They get a kick out of it. I grew up with a southern accent, but don't have it any longer, after years of working hard to loose it. There are a couple expressions that I still use (can't change everything), but for the most part, it is gone.

I've had to move to this area called Van Nuys & have had the worst problem with FLYS around the communal trash area. It's about 3 hours north of San Francisco. It is one of the most boring towns I've been to. It's very small. When we went there were few places to eat that were open. (Wasn't tourist season) The ones we did visit weren't very good. After eating at the North Coast Brewery we were sick for the rest of the day. Not fun. Since it's on the coast if you like fishing, diving, or boating it's an OK place to live. There are lots of parks with good hiking in the area. The town's former dump is well known as Gl Beach where people like to beach comb for little bits of broken ocean polished gl. The area has high unemployment because of the decline in the logging industry. Translates into a lot of empty store fronts.

Oh wow I'm terribly sorry. I feel so selfish because I was put into therapy for several things and I hated it, but I should just be thankful. When i was anorexic, what got me to get my slap back into reality was my doctor. He asked me if I wanted to die. I was shocked. I didn't realize that I might actually die. No one wants that. Even suicidals don't want that. People are just too addicted sometimes you know? It took me what it seemed like FOREVER to start eating again. Don't feel rushed at all! Just please continue to try, it's really inspiring to know that you are continuing to seek therapy on your own. Keep that perseverence, it will help you later on. And as for your parents, they're in denial. They're hurt that you're hurting and they just want it to go away, so they're just pretending it's not there. Go and tell your school counselor or a trusted teacher or parent. Don't be afraid to share what you just shared here. Because at least in person it will be with someone you really know and trust. A family gets into a car accident because the parents are making out; the parents, brother, and younger sister all make it out of the car but the older sister burns to death because her brother tied her shoelaces together. As I've stated, I'm a girl. I'm 14 years old, turning 15 very soon. I'm not really a girly-girl or anything, but I'm not a tom-boy either. My 97 Grand Cherokee won't start- is it b/c the AC leaks?

My grand cherokee died about two months ago and I put a brand new battery in it because I thought that was the problem. I was stupid though because it still would not start after that. I brought it to a mechanic and he kept it for over a week and said it started the whole time he had it and couldn't find a problem. Well I used the AC all the time and it leaked which caused a puddle by the penger floorboard. Mechanic said while he had it the AC wasn't being used, which is why there was no puddle. He said it's possible the leak caused the car not to start. So I have had it working fine since then until just now. I have been using the AC (yes, stupid on my part, but I live in New Orleans...) and the puddle is back. Today my car wouldn't start. Should I trust the mechanic that the puddle is the problem? Pay $800+ to fix the AC so it won't leak? Or is it possible that it's something else? Oh, it's definitely not the alternator or starter he said also. Advice is appreciated!

Normal to hear a ringing noise when you clench your teeth?

I have had that for years also. It's called tinnitis. Ringing in ears and even sounding like water in your ears. I tried a medication over the counter I got from a health store, I think it's called ring stop, it seemed to ease up some but it's not completely gone. I think we have been told from our doctors to get used to it because they just don't know how to treat it or understand it. Why does my son make these noises?

My son will be 3 months old on the 24th of this month. Ever since birth, he has been making these wheezing noises like he's trying to catch his breath. He does this mostly during feedings, occasionally at random. I had him by c-section. He was 3 weeks early, and swallowed some amniotic fluid on his way out. He was also low risk jaundice, and had slightly under developed lungs despite being born at 37 weeks. also, sometimes he wines when he sleeps, then stops. I think you have to realise that she doesn't want to completely shut off her family. Someone in my life is very nice to other people, but is contemptuous and raises his voice automatically when he's involved working on a project. I certainly did. My high school did not prepare me well for college. I really didn't know how to take notes, how to budget my time effectively, how to do research or how to speak in front of a group. My high school cles were taught more in a challenging question-and-answer format, which prepared me to defend my ideas, but I really wasn't prepared for the lecture format used in college. I learned to write well, which was enormously helpful, but I had to learn the rest at college so I felt like I was always playing catch-up. Many of my clmates were from affluent suburban high schools, so they were well-prepared for college. You have to remember that the academic elite go on to college, so the quality of your college clmates is generally going to be higher than the quality of your high school clmates.

The area around Dodger Stadium isn't nearly as unsafe as others imply (it's a middle cl Hispanic neighborhood--which is what an awful lot of L.A. is). They are right, though, that there aren't any GOOD hotels nearby. The closest high quality hotels would be in downtown L.A., which is pleasant and active by day but can seem rather creepy after dark. If you're looking for something cheaper, there are a lot of chain motels (Comfort Inn, Travelodge, etc.) west of Dodger Stadium on Sunset Boulevard and on into Hollywood. From downtown it's 10 - 15 minutes by car, taxi, or bus to Dodger Stadium. Figure 20 minutes from Hollywood and at least half an hour from Burbank.

15 Dpo Some positive, some negative, one inconclusive!!!!?

As far as I know I am 15 Dpo, and still negative result on my preg test strip(supposed to be the most sensitive type). I did get a very faint positive on first response @ 12dpo, followed by an inconclusive blood test...which was not as low as a negative amount of HCG but not quite enough to be a positive blood test. starting from where i can remember: I was hurrying through the halls and doors of what i presume was a hospital, and nurses came running to me thinking i was a doctor, i believe now it was some m emergency, i said i was not (i had an employee name tag) but as i looked at it my name was david and the last name was different but it did say i was a doctor. i ran to a room full of wounded soldiers, i asked for my right name tag back, but none would provide. i dont know if i was told or if i came to the realization that they were quarantined not sick or diseased just no one was allowed to move about. then i looked at myself and found i was in fatigues and some gear but the name tag and title were still there on my chest. someone asked how i was able to move around freely i said 'they believe im a doctor' it goes fuzzy but then i remember i was one of the last ones in this building; i had the distinct feeling and knowing that everyone was dead. next thing i knew i was going to rendezvous with a group of other soldiers in the same building. i presume they were not honorable or good at all, because i took a sidearm with a suppressor and tucked it into the back of my pants ;and when i approached the men i stood at ease to conceal my side arm from them and waited for whatever came next. it goes fuzzy again, but what rings in my head is screaming, not knowing if its myself or another, but screaming ' IM A SOLDIER!!' over and over again. the next thing i remember is crawling, and being so dirty and hurt, cold, and wet; and reaching for something glowing, its like a touch pad, window, mirror i dont know what; but it was a doent or contract of sorts and i struggled to write my name with my finger, fogging it consistently with my breath to see what i write by my finger. theres a dark force behind me, it takes many shapes, one of the bad soldier/officers, and others i dont remember i never turn around to see; but one thought came to mind when i felt its pressence- devil. i dont remember what transpired but i do remember before i woke up i signed that doent, and told him i pledged myself to God. then i woke up..

Sunl 110 will not crank and no spark PLEASE HELP?

I have a sunl 110 i bought. the Wheeler needed bushings and a battery. Before i bought it the people push started it and popped it in gear and it ran. So i bought the swing arm bushings and replace them and then i bought a battery. I put the battery on and i pulled the brake lever and turned the key on and it wouldn't crank. So then i ran a screw driver across the solenoid and it cranked over but it has absoluely no spark. I played with it for a while and unpluged the brake safety switch thinking that it was acting up and it still has nothing. Finally i remembered the fuse and checked it and the fuse was bad. So i have to get a fuse tomorrow but i tempoarily slid open the plastic pieces and connection the two br ends for the fuse to see if the fuse was the problem and it still didn't crank unless i ran a screwdriver across the solenoid and i still have no spark. I dont think my solenoid is bad i think that maybe i have a broken wire or a safety switch like the brake is bad or also maybe the cdi is bad. I was wondering if anyone could help and if you knew what tests i can run to find out what is wrong. My dad is good with electricity and he has the voltmeter and everything but he doesnt know what to test or any steps in order to single it down to whats wrong. does anyone know what to do? thanks

I get so annoyed when people say that they would only believe in a God only if there was more evidence of him existing. There is so much of God's knowledge everywhere around us; there is infinite complexity and beauty in this universe from the tiniest living organism to the mive galaxies that surround us. There is so much detail in the oceans and on land that I don't understand why people need more evidence than what God has shown us already. I just feel that they are so ignorant about what there is already to see. I know that many people would say that they would only accept God if they could only see him but for me personally that is no acception because it is just like someone saying that 'I don't believe in love' or 'i don't believe in anger' or even 'i don't believe in happiness' 'just because i can't see it' or 'that there is not enough proof'. So then why do we believe it? We cannot see it or we cannot even reach out to touch it. We believe it because we can feel it. Similarly people believe in God because they can feel his existance, they can feel him there for whenever we need him. I know someone will come up with the word suffering; I have already tried to explain it in other posts that if there was never suffering in this world then nobody would care as much about God, ask for repentance and be greatful to him about not being in that suffering situation and the fact that God will keep a better life in the hereafter for innocent people who suffer. I am curious to know what other ways people would claim that there is no God.

I have a few thoughts. First off, I'd consider limiting the use of parentheses. They work as an interruption to the reader and can take the reader 'out' of the story. Usually anything in parentheses can work as a stand alone sentence. Secondly, I'd consider changing the word 'smug' when you are talking about Jason at the end of this piece. The word has a negative connotation, which is why it works with the other character, Ahaana. I don't think you want a negative label with a character who looks like he's going to be the hero. I'd suggest playing with something to replace that word with. Think about what you want to accomplish with the smile. Is he pleased he could help her? Another thought is to do away with the smile completely. It's overused in writing anyway, and most people use it as an easy out instead of putting more thought into facial expressions. Could he be puzzled by her terse response? Afraid he's hurt her feelings? Or how about touch? Could he touch her desk top with fingertips as he goes by? See how you can change the whole interaction simply by changing a smile to something more interesting? Third, I agree with some of the other answers here that my first thought was this was another Twilight story. Mainly because the internet seems swamped with Twilight wanabees. Plus, your phrase about his super human brain made me think that. Since you've received similar feedback on the Twilight connection from more than one person I'd suggest also looking at changing the phrase that is making people target Twilight. You could simply delete the super charged brain phrase and use something else like that shows more of both characters. Try something like her wondering why he can be so smart at math when he's so bad at...some other course in school, some sport, talking to kids, etc. Or use it as a way to show a character trait of hers, as in, he's as good at math as she is at winning drag races or endurance horse trials...whatever is a strong character point for her. And finally, you have a good writing voice that is individual, and you have a great humor that is subtle and comes through in the character's thoughts. I'd strongly suggest you keep writing and working this piece. Remember to give readers something to care about with these characters. As in, what conflicts, internal and external, do they have? Readers want to cheer a character on, boo and hiss for the antagonist, and root for the protagonist to grow by the end of the story. That holds true for all the characters. Oh, and make sure the plot doesn't turn into a cliche school romance. Give the readers more than that. Sorry for the long answer, but keep going and good luck.
